Terms of Service — Litro
Last updated: 2026-08-13 Products: Litro mobile application, web Explorer, and Litro website
1. Operator, acceptance, and capacity
“Litro” is the displayed trade name. The operator’s complete legal identity and address must be added before any production publication in the European Economic Area. This version describes the current product contract without inventing those required legal notices.
By downloading, selecting “Accept and continue,” or using Litro, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge that you have reviewed the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the service. You must have legal capacity to accept them or use Litro with a parent or guardian’s authorization.
2. The service
Litro can show stations and available prices, compare distance and estimated detour cost, request a route, save favourites, configure alerts, and provide a local companion for vehicles, fill-ups, savings, parking, and trips.
Features, fuels, sources, prices, alerts, and recommendations vary by market. A station listing does not mean a price is available. An experimental or device-specific feature may change or be withdrawn.
3. Local data and no account
No account is required. Vehicles, fill-ups, intents, trips, traces, parked locations, notes, photos, and saved plans stay on the device. Litro does not synchronize this journal. You are responsible for device security, backups, and exported files.
The system may create a random installation secret for alerts, contributions, and privacy controls. Do not share it or try to reuse it across installations. Full server-data deletion rotates this identifier.
4. Coverage, sources, and licences
Litro combines data from supported sources that may be official, open, licensed, operator-supplied, or verified community contributions. Coverage varies by market. Required attributions, reuse conditions, and licences remain available in source pages or product information.
For Luxembourg national maximum prices, provenance, licensing, and reuse conditions are documented in the official Luxembourg open-data record. Litro does not expose the source’s technical endpoints in Explorer.
Litro normalizes and reconciles data but does not guarantee catalogue completeness or the accuracy, currency, availability, or continuity of any price. A station may have moved, closed, rebranded, or changed its price since the last observation. Confirm the posted price before purchasing.
5. Price contributions
Community sharing is optional. By submitting a contribution, you confirm to the best of your knowledge that:
- you genuinely observed the price at the identified station and time;
- station, fuel, unit, currency, price condition, and service level are correct;
- you are not submitting another person’s personal information, private fill-up details, notes, photos, or unlawful content;
- you are not trying to manipulate a price, ranking, confidence level, or the service.
Litro may accept, quarantine, compare, correct, reject, expire, or retract a price. A contribution is not necessarily published. A community price may require multiple independent observations or agreement with a supported source before it is described as verified.
To the extent any right exists in your contribution, you grant Litro a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, normalize, compare, moderate, publish, correct, and retain it only to operate, secure, and improve the service. You keep your rights. Litro does not sell your identity or publish the installation fingerprint.
You may retract an observation. Retraction prevents it from serving as active evidence; a moderation trail or already dissociated fact may remain where needed for service integrity or law.
6. Missing stations and corrections
Before proposing a missing station, review nearby matches and confirm that none is correct. Provide the real business name and location to the best of your knowledge. Do not submit a private residence, fabricated location, or a station already listed under another identity.
Litro may reconcile, merge, correct, reject, or withdraw a proposal. A provisional station is not presented as verified before the applicable checks. Deleting your data withdraws a pending proposal; an already verified business listing may remain after the installation is irreversibly dissociated.
7. Recommendations, savings, and Price Outlook
Comparisons, detour costs, range, estimated savings, and recommendations use available prices, last-observed time, distance, route assumptions, and sometimes local vehicle settings. Confirmed savings depend on fill-up information you enter on the device.
Price Outlook is a qualitative signal based on aggregated prices and available market indicators. It is not a promise, financial advice, or instruction to wait. Results never guarantee a price, saving, availability, or future outcome. You make the decision.
8. Routing and road safety
A map, distance, travel time, detour, or route may be incomplete or unsuitable for current conditions. Check signs, closures, vehicle restrictions, weather, range, and road conditions.
Do not operate Litro while driving. Set destinations and preferences before leaving or ask a passenger to use the device. An alert, station, or route suggestion never justifies an unsafe or unlawful manoeuvre.
9. Automatic trips and fill-up suggestions
Automatic recording is optional and depends on permissions, hardware, operating system, battery state, motion signals, and vehicle connection. It may miss, interrupt, split, or merge a trip. Review every trip before using it for a report, expense, or decision.
A detected stop near a station can only suggest opening a fill-up. It does not confirm a purchase and never creates a fill-up or community price without your explicit action.
10. Alerts and notifications
Alerts are optional and provided on a best-effort basis. They may be delayed, filtered, duplicated, undelivered, or outdated because of available data, network conditions, permissions, the device, or notification services. Do not rely on an alert as your only source of information.
11. Acceptable use
You must not:
- compromise, bypass, probe without authorization, or overload the service;
- automate bulk collection contrary to Litro limits or source rights;
- bypass security, rate limits, market availability, or publication controls;
- submit false prices, false stations, harmful content, or another person’s personal data;
- resell or republish data without respecting applicable licences and rights;
- use Litro for unlawful, fraudulent, or dangerous purposes;
- access internal data or functions without authorization.
Litro may limit or block an installation, request, or contribution to protect people, sources, and the service. This does not remove any mandatory remedy available to you.
12. Exports and imports
An export can contain notes, trips, photos, and locations. You are responsible for where you share and store it. Litro validates an import and may create a temporary recovery copy, but keep the original until the result is confirmed.
Litro does not guarantee that a future-version export, hand-edited file, or file produced by another program can be imported without loss.
13. External services
Hosting, databases, security, maps, place search, routing, notifications, communications, and consented analytics may use external services. Their own terms apply when you request the relevant feature.
Business-catalogue suppliers provide server-side data to Litro. Their mobility or places software kit is not embedded in the app, and Litro does not send them your trips, stops, devices, advertising identifiers, or precise locations.
14. Intellectual property
The app, website, design, non-open code, copy, and Litro marks are protected by applicable rights. Third-party data, marks, logos, and maps remain subject to their owners’ rights, licences, and attributions. Displaying a brand or station does not imply sponsorship or affiliation.
Unless a licence or law expressly permits it, these Terms do not grant a right to copy, bulk-extract, modify, resell, or build a competing service from protected elements.
15. Availability, changes, and ending use
Litro may fix, evolve, suspend, or remove a feature and impose reasonable security, licensing, or capacity limits. Where reasonably possible, a material change affecting local data or a right will be explained before it applies.
You can stop using Litro and delete your data at any time. Litro may stop processing an installation that breaches these Terms or presents a risk, without ending obligations or rights that by nature survive use.
16. Warranties and liability
Litro is provided “as is” and as available, to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty, remedy, consumer right, or liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Otherwise and to the permitted extent, Litro is not liable for indirect or consequential loss caused by a decision based solely on a price, alert, estimate, route, proposed station, or interruption. This limit does not apply to intentional or gross fault, injury to life or physical integrity, or any case where law prohibits it.
17. Governing law and consumers
The laws of Québec and Canada apply, subject to mandatory rules where you reside. Competent courts are determined by applicable law; nothing waives a mandatory remedy or requires you to give up a competent consumer forum.
Consumers in the EEA keep all mandatory protections under national and European law, including rules on information, digital content and services, unfair terms, and remedies. A limitation here has no effect where prohibited.
18. Privacy, changes, and contact
The Privacy Policy explains local storage, permissions, contributions, alerts, telemetry, ephemeral requests, provider categories, retention, export, and deletion.
Litro may update these Terms. The date above identifies the current version. A material change will be presented reasonably; a new optional purpose is not accepted by silence.
